Christopher R. Cogle, M.D., is an author, physician-scientist, and public health leader whose work spans academic medicine and public policymaking. He serves as Professor of Medicine at the University of Florida and as Chief Medical Officer for Florida’s Agency for Health Care Administration and Florida Medicaid, where he helps oversee care delivery and policy affecting millions of residents. Dr. Cogle is the author of Public Startup, a book examining how government institutions, particularly Medicaid, serve as laboratories for innovation in health, business, law, and public policy. A medical oncologist and health services researcher, he has authored more than 150 peer-reviewed publications and has helped launch companies that translate scientific and clinical insights into practical tools for patients, physicians, and health plans. His work focuses on how data, leadership, and policy design can improve population health and strengthen public institutions. He has received honors from the National Academy of Medicine, the Milbank Memorial Fund, Harvard Business School, and the American Cancer Society.
